Director, Opioid Response Coordination

Amy M. Murawski is the Director of Opioid Response Coordination for the State of Tennessee Health Department.  Ms. Murawski responsibility is to address how healthcare can more effectively and proactively respond to the ongoing epidemic of opioid misuse, abuse and overdose deaths in the State of Tennessee. The Department currently is the recipient of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Overdose Data to Action Grant.

Her past experience included the Director of the State of Michigan Regional Coordinating Agency System.   Her responsibility included the delivery of substance use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery services.  She oversaw the monitoring of provider’s performance against contractual obligation. Developed, disseminate and implement substance use disorder policies and procedures.

She was the principles lead in the National Behavioral Health Network for Tobacco and Cancer Control, Community of Practice Grant. And the principles lead for the Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome Project thru the Michigan Public Health Institute.

She maintains a working knowledge of all relevant state/federal, and local legislation and policies related to the successful operation of the Department.

Educational background includes being a certified addiction drug counselor, qualified mental health professional, and Notary Public. Credentials include: Bachelors of Science in Community Development and a Master of Science in Administration. She holds a National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals.  Her professional career encompasses over thirty years in the business of human services, and twenty-five of those years in administration of substance use disorder services.
